Why Finger Fitness?
Our hands and fingers are some of the most used body parts in our daily lives. We use them for typing, texting, cooking, cleaning, playing musical instruments, knitting, gardening, golf, tennis, driving, playing with our grandkids, and many other activities.
However, when it comes to fitness, many people tend to focus on larger muscle groups like legs & arms during their workouts.
Our hands and fingers do get some exercises naturally from our daily activities but often it’s not enough. And neglecting to exercise & stretch our hands and fingers can lead to a variety of issues like stiffness, pain, and reduced range of motion.
If you’re experiencing any of those issues, then you already know how frustrating & inconvenient it can be.
Difficulty gripping objects like eating utensils, sports equipment, the steering wheel, your phone…
Trouble typing on a keyboard, maneuvering & clicking your mouse…
…or experiencing pain from simple tasks like buttoning a shirt, tying your shoes, or trying to twist a jar open.
It can really make things frustrating!
That’s why finger fitness is so important, especially as we age.
If we want to keep our hand and fingers strong, flexible, and mobile enough to do the things we love to do for many years to come, then it’s crucial we incorporate targeted exercises and stretches into our daily routine. And one way to do that in a simple way that is also FUN — playing the piano!
