6 Reasons Why We Experience Hand & Finger Discomfort or Stiffness…
Here’s 6 reasons…
1 – Repetitive Strain Injuries – People’s who’s job or regular daily activities require them to perform repetitive motions with their hands and fingers (typing, cooking, hair styling, healthcare, even musicians, etc) are susceptible to “repetitive strain injuries”. These RSIs happen when we place repeated stress on a particular area of the body (read: hands & fingers) which can lead to pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility.
2 – Arthritis – this is a condition that causes inflammation and pain in the joints. There are several types of arthritis including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and psoriatic arthritis.
3 – Carpal Tunnel Syndrome – this is a condition that happens when the median nerve in the write is compressed or “pinched” which can lead to pain, numbness, and tingling.
4 – Trauma – Previous injuries to the hands or fingers, such as fractures or sprains can cause pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility.
5 – Poor posture – this can lead to tension and strain in the muscles & joints of the hands and fingers which can result in pain & discomfort.
6 – Improper use of hands & fingers – i.e. gripping objects too tightly.
Ultimately, if we want to improve our ability to move our hands and do the things we want to do with minimal stiffness, pain, or discomfort, it’s important that we incorporate a daily finger fitness workout into our lifestyle.
